What I Learned as a Writer…
There are several moments I have learned as being writer in my twenties that were useful throughout the past year. These moments have stuck to me writing these down with a pen and paper or even your phone.
The first thing as a writer I learned was words do impact an individual whether they may be an artist or not. I say this because there is a stigma where artists are known to feel words deeply. As an artist/writer myself, I tend to be in tune with my emotions and can take words literally leading myself to feel sensitive of what could have been said or done. If you are artist, have you noticed this yourself?
The second thing I have learned was reflecting and writing down what good or what improvements can be made for myself. It gave me clarity about what positive moment occurred that day and gave me a sense of purpose as an individual that good things can happen. Along with how imperfect I can be as to why I also write down what improvements can be made the next day.
The next thing I learned was venting on paper or on your notes app about what has been bottled up inside. There is something about letting out all your emotions, good or bad, into words on a piece of paper/app that makes you feel relieved at the end. My theory is no ones judging you since you’re sharing your most vulnerable moment to a piece of paper or to your note’s app where no one (hopefully no one) will ever read.
The last thing I learned as a writer was recording down words in your personal interaction on what have been said can help in the long run. This is from learning about someone new, studying your notes from class, or even at work of the good and the bad on what happened. I do this when I meet someone new. That way when we ever meet up again it allows me ask how has this or that is going. Think of it as a memory bank where you’re putting down on paper to help you remember (especially if you may have a bad short-term memory) things. Also, writing things down helps to remember things.
Overall lesson from this, writing is not useless, and it is beneficiary to cope, to remember things, to reflect on your day, and most importantly it is a way to keep on writing as a writer no matter how small or large your paragraphs are.
