Pumpkin Pie

Like the first taste of

pumpkin pie,

Your eyes glow once

you hear all the praise

from kids your age,

Like the cinnamon

sweetness flavor,

You savor companion

before you get abandon,

Like the biscuit crumbs

falling down on your plate,

They say your name yet

out of sight they shred

your forgiving face,

Tears begins to fall as

so-called friends are

your heartless foes,

Like pieces of pie left

on your face,

You wipe away what they

do not deserve to leer,

Like taking the last piece

of the pumpkin pie bite,

You throw away trash

to not linger nearby,

and walk away with an

insightful smile.
